Saturday April 3rd

Event Presenter: Ellen Lindner

Event Date – April 3rd

Event Description –  Please join us for our April workshop with Ellen Lindner. Ellen is a talented quilt artist and teacher who is passionate about making fabric into art. She says, “I make art for the pure joy of doing so!”  Known for its strong contrasts and vivid colors, her art has been shown throughout the United States, and beyond, has been commissioned by several well-known hospitals, and has been published in several magazines. Ellen has been seen on Quilting Arts TV, where she taught some of her techniques.  She’s also written two books and several magazine articles.

Her work is very diverse, ranging from pictorial still lifes to modernist abstracts.  In addition to using commercial fabrics, Ellen has recently started dying much of her own fabric. This enlivens her pieces and gives her one more way to control the results. She works in a freeform collage style, while borrowing heavily from traditional quilt making techniques.

Entirely self-taught, Ellen has worked most of her adult life as a flight instructor.  Now utilizing her teaching expertise at a lower altitude, she offers lectures and workshops in a variety of quilting areas – both in person, live online (via Zoom,) and online on-demand. These are always well received, since Ellen’s enthusiasm for design, color, and experimentation is contagious!

We have chosen to work on her beautiful Love It Or Leaf It project.  The cost for this workshop will be $35.00. Pattern is included and will be sent out to participants upon sign up.

Event Fee and Pattern:
Members: $35.00
Non-Members: $45.00

We encourage everyone in the Guild to take advantage of the Workshops offered. Professional Teachers are booked months in advance and at considerable expense by the Guild. Please check your calendar before signing up for a workshop.

Your Registration is not confirmed until a check is received by the Registrar either at a meeting or by mail.  Post-dated checks will not be accepted. Each Workshop requires a separate check dated the day you register.

A copy of the supply list will be sent to your email address or provided at a meeting only after payment is received and confirmed. Full payment is required at least two weeks before the Workshop. If the Registrar does not receive your payment, your spot will be released to someone on the waiting list.

CANCELLATION BY STUDENT: For workshops with Professional Teachers, to be fair to everyone and to cover the cost of the Workshop, NO REFUNDS will be issued.

There is no “auditing” of workshops. The Annex is closed to anyone but registered students on workshop Saturdays. Guests and children are not permitted to sit in on workshops.

If a workshop is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will receive a full refund. Please register early to ensure that minimum enrollment numbers are met so that a workshop you wanted isn’t cancelled before you sign up.
