Membership is open to all persons. Individuals under 18 are welcome to join the guild if they have an active adult member to sponsor them. The sponsoring member will be responsible for that person at all guild activities.
Membership dues are $50 per year. Annual dues are payable to RRQ by January 31. New members joining after June 30 will pay $25 for the remainder of the year.
The fiscal year of the guild is from January 1 through December 31. Members whose dues are not paid by January 31 will be excluded from all membership benefits, including meeting and program attendance, receiving the bi-monthly enewsletter, and inclusion on the active membership list.
Members are encouraged to keep their dues current to enjoy the many programs and benefits of belonging to RRQ. Additional fees may be assessed for guest speakers and workshops as advertised for each special event. Additional donations to support the guild are always welcomed.
Membership to RRQ Benefits and Privileges
Each monthly meeting has a featured program which may be presented by guild members or an invited speaker. The programs offer an opportunity to learn new techniques, view new products, or expand our knowledge of quilting. Show and Tell is an important element of each meeting, giving members a chance to show off their latest quilting accomplishments.
We have frequent workshops, often planned around the monthly program. Workshops may be taught by guest speakers or by one of our talented guild members. Dates and fees for the workshops are listed on our calendar and in the guild newsletter which is published bimonthly.
This is an informal group of quilters who meet at the Annex of Poricy Park on Wednesdays between 10 am and 2 pm. Members are free to show up any time between those hours and bring lunch and a current project to work on. Long tables are available to pin or baste large quilt sandwiches. The cutting room has a table and rulers for cutting pieces. The library has an extensive assortment of quilting books that may be checked out by guild members.
A juried quilt show with more than 150 traditional and contemporary quilts are displayed. Guild members have the opportunity to have their work evaluated by a professionally certified quilt judge. The Barn Challenge, a quilt challenge based on the show’s theme, is a popular feature at the show, with viewers voting for their favorite. Our next meeting will be in 2020.
